Crazy Day

Have you ever had 'one of those days?' Where everything is just sort of strange?

1. Zach has started to stand in his crib - he is really proud of being able to stand up by himself. But he fell and hit his eye (see pics below) before I could catch him. I mean, it didn't require a rib-eye steak or a pack of frozen peas or anything - but it was just sort of weird how one minute he was there and then the next he wasn't!

2. A bird flew into the house and my frantic screeching and broom waving woke up the boys from their afternoon nap. (And no, the broom didn't work. So I had to resort to oven mitts.) (And yes, I extracted the aforementioned birdie all by myself without calling Jon.)

3. Everyone is so worked up about this swine flu. We just finished our self-imposed quarantine for RSV season, and now I'm dreading the impending decision to quarantine ourselves if they shut down San Antonio schools.

I was thinking about how wierd today was ... while scrubbing pureed eggplant off the dining room wall. Maybe this is the new normal, I thought. Maybe its just called parenthood.

Silly Blogger!

So, I know just enough about computers and the like to get me into serious trouble. You know...I know just enough to really mess things up. Below are some pics that I am posting out of sheer frustration. I tried to make this really cute little post with them in Photoshop and then in uploading my cute little creation to blogger I realized how little I actually know.

I even did the unthinkable...messed with the html code...yes, I can hear you collective gasps. And yes...it turned out as badly as you were thinking - even after the wonderful and helpful Britt of Britt-ish Designs tried to give me some email tutorials on it. (Please visit her blog today if you haven't already - she has one of the cutest around!) So, you know what this means don't you??? The aforementioned task will get delegated to my super brillant engineer husband. But in the meantime - enjoy the pics via Picasa.

Ps - the thing is Zach's hand is treebark. Yes, it know it looks suspicious.

Cake Balls

This weekend was a whirlwind! On Saturday, I helped give a baby shower in honor of my friend, Tamara. Instead of making a cake, I made these little cuties called cake balls, from the famous & fabulous blog of Bakerella (click here). But bloggers beware - you can spend hours getting lost in the cuteness!

Then on Sunday, the twins reached a new milestone - the church nursery! Yep. We put them in the nursery for the first time. Jonathan and I enjoyed the freedom, but were sure to check on them between Bible study and worship services. (we couldn't help ourselves). They looked as snug as bugs in Gloria Baldree's lap. Thank you Gloria and all the wonderful helpers at UBC!

Easter in Magnolia, TX

We spent Easter in Magnolia, TX this year with the Demings and Hopkins. It was a short trip, but so worth it for the cousins to see eachother!!!

Eating dust ...

After registering countless complaints with the "I Hate your Blog" department, my older sister, Heather, has finally had enough. She has created the most amazing blog you have ever seen! I mean, you might practically die from the cuteness.

I'm an Aunt...again!

Last month my middle sister, Caroline, had her second baby...Jude Warren Wear. He is so beautiful! Congratulations Brian, Caroline, and Isaac! We can't wait to hug you, Jude!
Caroline doesn't have a blog yet...but my complaining tactics seemed to have worked in the case of my eldest sis - only time will tell if Caroline will succumb as well!

9 Months!

The boys are nine months - holy moley!
-each one weighs 19 lbs 8 0z
-each one is 29.5 inches tall!
-We're starting finger foods (although not too successfully)
-both boys are up on their knees
-Zach likes to try to give Daddy hi-fives
-Jonah likes to hold hands and say Mama lots (especially in protest of bedtime)

We took some photos for our Easter Cards after church on Sunday and came out with 3 pretty good ones - see the blog header. Although it took us three outfit changes and about 50 frames to get those! Be looking in the mail for our Easter Cards! They are coming to a mailbox near you!!!!

Grammy & Grandaddy

A few weeks ago, my parents came to visit us (I mean, the boys), and we had so much fun! Highlights include: porch time, lots of cuddling, a target run, and dinner at Mamacitas! We miss you Grammy and Grandaddy!
